This is the very first baby blanket that I made after learning how to crochet. I love all the bright shades of blue and since I was new to the form, I decided to make it from a more forgiving material, cotton!
This blanket is made from Village Yarn – Turquoise and Ocean Ombré, Caron Simply Soft Heather, and Lily Sugar n’ Cream Key Lime Pie. I enjoyed making this blanket and it really taught me how to keep my tension on point and neat. This is not much of an issue when knitting as your tension is helped with the size of your needles.
I used a standard Granny Square to make this blanket and used a whip stitch to join the squares and then added a nice popcorn border to make it texturally intriguing for a baby.
